Get Up

Paulo Coelho de Souza is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist and the recipient of numerous international awards. He is best known for his widely translated novel The Alchemist.

I love his philosophical view on life.

The Alchemist follows the journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago. Believing a recurring dream to be prophetic, he asks a Romani fortune-teller in a nearby town about its meaning. The woman interprets the dream as a prophecy telling the boy that he will discover a treasure at the Egyptian pyramids.

He adds that “when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” This is the core theme of the book.

Therefore if you have a vision, a purpose of life then keep on going even if you fall or get knocked down seven times. Then perhaps you will get there if you have risen eight times…
