Healthy Food vs Junk Food

Healthy Food vs Junk Food

Many people want to eat healthier and lose weight. When it comes to how they handle the process of eating better, some choose to have one day a week where they can eat what they want - even what is not good to eat.

Just think about it: How can it be that we need to consume everything that we know is not good for us? How can it be that we even think thoughts like "A day with or a little of the unhealthy does not matter then?" How can it be that we distinguish between healthy and unhealthy diets?

So "Diets" are foods that benefit and strengthen our body and mind. A diet that benefits our biological systems and provides them with what they need. 'Married' is all that does not benefit the body and mind. That which drains, loads and leaves waste in our biological systems. What makes our body and mind not work optimally?

Where is the line between what is married and what is not married? Most people consider what hurts here and now and take our lives as married. What hurts us slowly, and takes our lives in the long run, is often considered only unhealthy. Where are the reason and logic right in that?

We often like to eat unhealthy diets. How many would do that if we considered it unhealthy as poison? Probably not quite many? Distinguishing between diet and poison will point in the direction that there is no healthy and unhealthy diet. The only diet that benefits us, or diet that does not.

Many of our health and wellness challenges are rooted in what we think about diet. What our attitude is to what we consume. If we change our thoughts, attitudes, and experiences about diet, towards what is actually diet - and avoid the poison - it will quietly change our eating habits for the better - and we (and society) would slowly become healthier.

Why should we eat a healthy diet?

A healthy and varied diet forms the cornerstones of the body's nutrient intake and therefore affects the body's well-being.

It is through the diet that the body gets its energy and nutrients for:

  • a satisfactory regulation of blood sugar
  • well-functioning immune system
  • antioxidant defenses
  • building blocks for the body, m.m.

A healthy and sensible diet can prevent or reduce obesity, as well as prevent lifestyle diseases, especially cardiovascular disease. A healthy diet is, therefore, an important contribution to well-being and energy in everyday life. It is therefore important for all of us that eat a healthy diet. In risky conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high levels of fats in the blood, a healthy diet is especially important, as an inappropriate diet and lifestyle can shorten the time to disease exacerbation.

Healthy food is a broad term. It is actually very difficult to define today which food is healthy and not healthy. My belief is, after studying several health gurus and feeling it on our own bodies, that we first get the healthiest food directly from nature. The healthiest food is the least processed food. It must be as natural as possible, and yes also organic. What makes me feel the healthiest is when I eat different vegetables, nuts, berries, and fruits. In addition, it is about eating varied and in small amounts. Too much fatty food and too salty food is NO GO. We return to the subject of salt. In short, we should find foods high in fiber and delicious vitamins. But for some reason, has it always been our favorite? Cabbage is one of the healthiest ingredients we have in Denmark. It is full of fiber which fills well in the stomach and at the same time has a lot of good vitamins, which do a whole lot of good for our body.

Whether we admit it or not, it is unfortunately all too often the unhealthy that wins. But if you can not fight it yourself, what do you do then? Yes, you could, for example, postpone it. One could start by eating the healthy and trick the brain, by rewarding it with the unhealthy if you eat the healthy first. In fact, it happens in most cases that you are already relatively full after the healthy, that you have no room for the unhealthy at all. Now the position suddenly stands completely different when we talk about who wins: junk vs. Healthy.

I greatly benefit from asking the following questions regarding the diet I have available:

  1. Is it a helpful diet, a diet that benefits my body and my mind? If so, please enjoy it.
  2. If not, what helpful diet - which at the same time gives me a better experience - can I replace it with?

For example, if I have a soda available, I ask:

  1. Is soda a helpful drink, a drink that benefits my body and my mind? My answer is "No".
  2. What helpful drink - which at the same time gives me a better experience - can I replace it with? My answer is "Smoothie" or "Spring water with lemon flavor".

Facts

  • Healthy eating promotes well-being in everyday life
  • A healthy diet prevents lifestyle diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease
  • Eat vegetables, choose whole grains, and lean meats (and if you need meat, choose meat from animals that have lived well. It strengthens your mental health and the sustainability of the Earth).
  • Quench your thirst in the water
  • Saturated fats, sweets, and alcohol should be limited

It is well known to all that if we improve our eating habits in small steps, it will have a great effect in the long run. We want to be healthier and have more energy - and many times helpful foods give a better experience, both in terms of taste, well-being, and visuals.

The love of unhealthy food

Time and time again, we ask ourselves why we can not just love the healthy instead of loving the unhealthy. But there are actually quite a few explanations for why we love unhealthy food higher than anything else.

  • Unhealthy food tastes delicious. Just a little extra cream in the sauce or soup gives a nice round taste. Or a little extra cheese on top of the otherwise healthy lasagna. Our taste buds are just designed to like unhealthy food better than healthy food. Why that's a good question. One could imagine that it has something to do with evolution. We are not meant to be thin and ragged. We must eat meat and mash ourselves in food. It could at least be a good bid!
  • Today we know that mood affects our urge to whether it is healthy or unhealthy. Maybe we should instead work a little on not stressing, and get in a better mood instead of concentrating and stressing about our eating habits. Many people think that they can actually feel a bodily change as soon as they ingest just a single piece of chocolate. That's thoughtful! It is also extremely thought-provoking that Junkfood is highly addictive. This is mainly due to its high sugar and fat content.

In fact, it's not so incredible that it's always the unhealthy thing we have to resort to when we shop. Typically, we are already hungry when we are in the middle of our shopping. That is exactly what is most dangerous we can offer ourselves. What happens up in the brain is that it does everything to provide some fast energy. The fastest way the body can produce energy is by consuming sugar. That is why we typically feel like something sweet at the end of the day or when we are really hungry. But why is it then that sugar is so unhealthy? As such, sugar is not unhealthy in itself, but it is fast energy and the energy, therefore, disappears quickly again. Therefore, we do not consider sugar healthy food. On the other hand, it is healthy to eat food with a high content of fiber, which is the one that gives us energy and at the same time a feeling of satiety. Although I write that sugar is not unhealthy, I certainly do not think that sugar is healthy either! Recent research shows that if we consume sugar and fat at the same time, then the risk of developing obesity is greatest.

If unhealthy food satisfies us so much and yet we get full of it, why is it so straight that we do not just live life and live off all the unhealthy? First of all, it is important to keep in mind that fatty foods make us tired because it does not contain as much energy and as many vitamins as healthy foods. In addition, it is over proven that it harms our health. On the other hand, I would argue that it does not hurt, with a little unhealthy food once in a while, remember it satisfies our cravings - there must be something good in unhealthy food if one can limit it.

What is unhealthy food?

Unhealthy food is food that does not contribute any nutrients to the body - only empty calories. Junk food is the English word for unhealthy food. If you translate it, it means "junk food".

Junk food covers the type of food that does not have much to offer in terms of quality and content and therefore is some junk. So when we eat junk food we turn the body into a trash can.

These are 2 typical characteristics of unhealthy food. The food contains way too much fat and sugar and we get it, especially from junk food, sweets, and sugar water, and from snacks and chips.

Yes, I do not know about you, but I want to be good at my body, my surroundings, and my fellow human beings and have a life with a high quality of life. I can do this, especially through healthy eating. What do you say?
