Find your will to do it.

Be Wise and enlightened about it.

Be patient.

Find activities You feel fun about.

Remember why you do it and why you started.

Give yourself rewards.

1. Give Yourself a Real Reward

Sure, some people might be motivated by vague goals such as “better health” or “weight control.” But if that’s not doing it for you, journalist Charles Duhigg, author of The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business advises making the benefits of working out more tangible, such as by treating yourself to a smoothie or an episode of Game of Thrones afterwards.

He describes creating a neurological “habit loop,” which involves a cue to trigger the behavior (setting out your spinning shoes next to your bag), the routine (making it through spinning class) and then the reward. “An extrinsic reward is so powerful because your brain can latch on to it and make the link that the behavior is worthwhile,” he explains. “It increases the odds the routine becomes a habit.”

“An extrinsic reward is so powerful because your brain can latch on to it and make the link that the behavior is worthwhile.”

Over time, the motivation becomes intrinsic, as the brain begins to associate sweat and pain with the surge of endorphins — those feel-good chemicals released in the brain that are responsible for that “I-feel-freaking-amazing” rush you get after a great gym session. Once you’ve trained your brain to recognize that the workout itself is the reward, you won’t even want the treat.

2. Sign a Commitment Contract with yourself or with others

We can make promises to ourselves all day long, but research shows we’re more likely to follow through with pledges when we make them in front of friends.

You can up the ante even more by signing a contract agreeing to pay a pal $20 every time you skip Pilates. “It’s a simple notion of changing the cost,” explains Jeremy Goldhaber-Fiebert, PhD, assistant professor of medicine at Stanford University who studies health decision science. “I say I’m going to make a commitment to do something for a certain amount of time, such as exercising 30 minutes three times a week for 12 weeks. If I don’t do that, I’m going to pay some kind of penalty, whether it’s monetary or the embarrassment of having friends know I didn’t live up to my word.”

In studies of people who created online contracts via the site stickk.com, Goldhaber-Fiebert and his colleagues found that those who signed longer contracts ended up exercising more than those who agreed to shorter durations. “We have to get past the initial experience of displeasure in order to recognize the longer-term benefits,” he says. “The challenge is designing tools to help make that happen.”

3. Rethink Positive Thinking

Devotees of positive thinking have long promoted visualizing the benefits of a behavior as a motivational strategy. For example, when I’m deciding whether to get out of bed to go running in the morning, it helps to imagine how the sun will feel on my face as I run around the reservoir. Or how delighted I’ll be when I see my new muscles developing.

But such feel-good fantasies are only effective when accompanied by more realistic problem-solving methods, according to Gabriele Oettingen, PhD, psychologist at New York University and author of Rethinking Positive Thinking: Inside the New Science of Motivation.

Here’s the rest of the formula: After identifying your wish and visualizing the outcome, you have to identify what’s holding you back — a technique she calls “mental contrasting.” In one study of 51 female students who claimed they wanted to eat fewer junk food snacks, researchers asked each woman to imagine the benefits of nibbling on better foods. Those who identified the trigger that made healthful snacking difficult for them — and came up with a plan to reach for fruit when cravings hit — were most successful at sticking to their goal.

Feel too tired to go to the gym after work? “After you imagine the obstacle, you can figure out what you can do to overcome it and make a plan,” explains Oettingen. For example, you can switch to morning or lunchtime workouts or go straight to the gym instead of stopping at home first.

4. Find Your Fitness Tribe

Let’s face it: No one can pay you to do more squats, rack up more miles or lift heavier — and science proves it. Researchers in a recent study from the National Bureau of Economic Research found that rewarding new gym members with $30 or $60 gift cards for exercising made little to zero impact on their workout motivation. While it might sound like a sweet deal to get paid to sweat, what will ultimately inspire you to get up and start moving is a strong, supportive community. The laughs, high fives and words of encouragement from the bonds people make are things money simply can’t buy. From CrossFit boxes to run clubs to yogi circles, there’s a fitness squad for everyone. Find a workout that makes you feel good and surround yourself with people that help build your confidence as much as your strength. The cost of putting yourself out there? Priceless.

Do it for YOU

Why do you it?

Are you controlled by the world around you,

Or do you do it, because you know it is good for you,

and the best thing……

Because you actually LIKE IT?

Let me be the one billionth person to tell you: These things can work and have a positive effect in your life.

I often incorporate many of them into my life now to keep me balanced and on the path I set out for myself.

But notice how many people forego these things when troubles arrive in their life.

The best advice will provide little if any movement in a person who doesn’t even know how to get out of bed, let alone create the life they always wanted.

Sometimes Pain speaks louder then common sense.

Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Everyone in this world longs to be happy, fulfilled and ripe with purpose. Each of us has an imagination that, when put to correct use, can conjure up the most amazing creations.

The mind is a powerful tool.

Napoleon Hill famously wrote, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

But what if the very act of dreaming has become foreign to you?

Then it is time to start dreaming again….and then start doing. It is time to reconnect your mind with your body. It is time to take control over yourself. Don´t waste life.

Actually, You Are Important.

“Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it because nobody else will.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Contrary to popular opinion these days, you are in fact important and unique.

Your life is unique in the sense that no one will ever walk on this earth with your exact mind, exact heart, or exact story.

If your bringing something to the table that no one else can, then you are important and special.

You may go on to finally bring hope back to politics. You may bring a cure to the sick or worth to the jobless. Maybe you will build up companies that change our hearts or hearts that change our minds.

Or maybe all you will do is live the so-called “ordinary life.”

If that bugs you, chew on this:

If in all my life, I only ever help one person live out their purpose, and they did the same, and the next person did the same (ok you get it), then my dads simple words to me could end up changing the world.

I don’t know what’s ahead for you. I barely know about my own future. Whatever it is though, it’s time you start living it.

Why?

Because even if you’re currently lost in your pain, your path or even your pleasurewe NEED you to. Therefore start doing something great for your body and mind.

Choose To Live Today

I want to break free

I want to break free
I want to break free
I want to break free from your lies
You’re so self satisfied I don’t need you
I’ve got to break free
God knows, God knows I want to break free
I’ve fallen in love
I’ve fallen in love for the first time
And this time I know it’s for real
I’ve fallen in love, yeah
God knows, God knows I’ve fallen in love
It’s strange but it’s true
I can’t get over the way you love me like you do
But I have to be sure
When I walk out that door
Oh how I want to be free, baby
Oh how I want to be free
Oh how I want to break free
But life still goes on
I can’t get used to living without, living without
Living without you by my side
I don’t want to live alone, hey
God knows, got to make it on my own
So baby can’t you see
I’ve got to break free
I’ve got to break free
I want to break free, yeah
I want, I want, I want, I want to break free

The song is largely known for its music video for which all the band members dressed in women’s clothes, a concept proposed by Roger Taylor, which parodied the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street. The second part of the video included a composition rehearsed and performed with the Royal Ballet and choreographed by Wayne Eagling. Whereas the parody was acclaimed in the United Kingdom, it was considered controversial in the United States and banned by MTV[2] and other stations.

Do you want to break free?

I think this is one of those songs that can be interpreted in lots of different ways. I love songs like this that can identify with so many people that need to identify with a song. For me the way I interpreted “I want to break free” is partly explored in the way it is used in the we will rock you musical. Wanting to break free from a a world that is just so false and corrupt and untrustworthy and evil, etc. And also I can identify with I want to break free, in terms of wanting to break free from my life the way and break free and change it and myself. This is one of my favoruite songs, based on the fact that it a brilliantly written song but also because the lyrics are so powerful. Maybe you can use the power in the song to break free too?

Like I said before, the song can be interpreted in many ways. Maybe reading between the lines, it’s John Deacon declaring he’d really like out of Queen (it’s 1983) so he can pursue other things. Very cleverly written. For years I thought it was a Freddie ‘coming out’ song.

Especially the last verse:

But life still goes on I can’t get used to living without, living without Living without you by my side I don’t want to live alone, hey God knows, got to make it on my own

“I can’t get used to living without you by my side” – yeah leaving Queen ain’t gonna be easy

“God knows, got to make it on my own” – John Deacon hoping his solo career works out

Songs like bohemian rhapsody are such amazing songs and so creative and imaginative. But I find that I connect more personally to the lyrics in songs like “I want to break free”.

No it is not easy to break free from the everyday life and something very established. But if you feel that this is not right for you and you want to live in another way……God knows, you got to make it on your own…

Special Places

We can conserve most of life on Earth by protecting the most exceptional ecosystems and habitats. Places that are particularly rich in biodiversity. Places with unique animals and plants. Places like no other.

Why these places?

These regions have been scientifically identified as:

  • being home to irreplaceable and threatened biodiversity, or
  • representing an opportunity to conserve the largest and most intact representative of their ecosystem.

We are also working in a number of regional priority areas that are locally important and have a long history of WWF conservation success.

Energy Medicine

We Are All Made Of Energy – We Are All Self-Healing

Eastern and ancient medical models have been based on energy for thousands of years. We witness our body’s ability to heal itself when small cuts heal, and with our expectation, “this will heal.”

Tuning into our energy body is easy, quick, and can switch our emotions and health in a few moments. When we tune into our energy bodies with our intention we can truly change our lives physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Self-healing is not at all complicated.

In a few simple steps, you can bring a feeling of peace into your body. You can tune into your energy body and use your thoughts and emotions to change the frequency and flow of your energy.

It is a simple as changing the channel from a negative reporting news channel to your favorite comedy show, and feeling yourself relax with that change.

Your day can move in a new direction that will guarantee you are inviting ease, flow and even “miracles” into your life.

1. Sit in a comfortable position and become aware of your breath.

No need to change the pattern of your breathing – just pay attention to the flow – in and out, in and out. No judging it, no changing it – just noticing.

This is simply to become “present” and to stop some of the never-ending thoughts from interfering for the next few minutes.

2. Take your hands (palms together) in front of you and rub them together quickly for 30 – 60 seconds.

Let them become warm from the friction and feel that warmth.

Invite a slight smile in as you are rubbing your hands and taking this time. Smiling itself is healing and has the ability to switch our moods in a few seconds.

3. Hold your hands 6-8 inches away from each other, facing each other and feel the energy flowing through them.

This energy is always here – you are feeling it now because of the intention and the awakening your awareness to it.

you feel this energy tune into it. Know this is part of you. Keep on smiling – doesn’t this feel great?

4. Close your eyes. See if you can move the energy up your arms, through your body.

There is no “wrong way” to do this. You are awakening your energy body with your intent and your intent is to feel and to heal.

See if you can move that energy to any part of your body you may feel some stress or illness in. Keep it there knowing you are sending it love and positive “healing energy.” If you feel like you are losing touch with feeling the energy – rub your hands together again.

There is no judgment and no way to do this incorrectly.

Picture the energy in whatever way feels right for you. Perhaps you just want to feel it or maybe you want to picture it as a white light – it is whatever way feels the easiest for you. Let yourself play with this step and smile while doing it.

5. Continue to work with this flow of energy.

Call it to different parts of your body. Notice how it feels as it reaches different spaces.

This energy can help those areas that usually bring you pain— feel grateful for finally recognizing this inherent ability in you.

Notice the energy relaxing the parts of the body it flows into. Thank your body for being able to awaken to this awareness and healing.

Playing with this energy flow for even five minutes can bring a state of joy and peace that you may have felt was impossible even minutes earlier.

5 Easy Steps To Self-Healing In 5 Minutes

infographic

The current status of energy medicine and its increasing challenge to the biochemical paradigm that has dominated conventional medicine are reviewed. While energy medicine represents only a small fraction of one percent of the 2.2 trillion dollar health care industry, six properties of energy medicine give it strengths that could augment conventional health care models. These include the ways energy medicine 1) can address biological processes at their energetic foundations (reach), 2) regulates biological processes with precision, speed, and flexibility (efficiency), 3) fosters healing and prevents illness with interventions that can be readily, economically, and non-invasively applied (practicality), 4) includes methods that can be utilized on an at-home, self-help basis, fostering a stronger patient and practitioner partnership in the healing process (patient empowerment), 5) adopts non-linear concepts consistent with distant healing, the healing impact of prayer, and the role of intention in healing (quantum compatibility), and 6) strengthens the integration of body, mind, and spirit, leading not only to a focus on healing, but to achieving greater well-being, peace, and passion for life (holistic orientation).

Strategies for restoring and maintaining the health of the body’s energies by stimulating specific “energy points” have been passed along the generations in China and other parts of the world for at least 5000 years. A body that had been mummified in a snow-bound mountainous region along the border between Austria and Italy around 3000 B.C. had tattoos on exactly the points that are indicated in traditional Chinese medicine for treating the kind of lumbar spine arthritis revealed by an x-ray analysis of the body (9 of the 15 markings were along a meridian or energy pathway that is used in treating back pain, including one on the precise point that is considered the “master point” for back pain). Forensic analysis also revealed that the body’s intestines had been rife with whipworm eggs, and indeed, some of the other markings were on points that are traditionally used for treating stomach upset.7 Similar tattoos have been found on mummified bodies in other regions, ranging from South America to Siberia.

As contemporary clinical experience and scientific investigation lend increasing credibility to the concepts and procedures used in energy medicine, while at the same time public discontent with and concern about the dangers and costs of conventional medicine grow at a discomfiting rate,8 six areas are emerging where energy medicine might augment and in some ways supersede conventional medical practices. After examining the fundamental natural mechanism underlying energy medicine—the decisive impact of the body’s energies and “organizing fields” on gene expression and cell activity.
